When used together, fabric softener and a rubber brush pull pet hair out of carpet. Lightly mist the fabric softener over the carpet, and brush the carpet with the rubber brush. The brush grabs the hair and you can easily get all the hair into one area on the carpet. Then you can easily vacuum or pick the hair from the carpet. Water can be used instead of fabric softener in a pinch!
